Hong Kong Tag names first ever international tag rugby squad

Hong Kong Tag (HKTag) has announced its 2018 Tag World Cup squads.

Following weeks of competitive trials, HKTag can now reveal the 36-player open squad heading to the 2018 Tag World Cup, which includes several of our own Hong Kong Rugby League national and international players.

Hong Kong will be represented in the mixed open and male open divisions at the 2018 Tag World Cup, which takes place 1-4 November in Coffs Harbour, Australia. This is Hong Kong’s first ever appearance in an international tag rugby competition and marks an historic occasion for the team.

Hong Kong Thunder star, Gus Spence – who has also been selected for the Emerging Nationals World Cup in October – will start in the mixed open squad, alongside several domestic Hong Kong rugby league players, including Damien Vatin and Lukas Lai. Hong Kong Thunder captain, Ringo Lung, has been named Assistant Coach of the mixed open squad.
