HKRL have today announced Neville Metcalfe as Chairman of Hong Kong Rugby League, replacing James Hall who has returned to the U.K. James will continue to sit on the Management Board as Co-founder and HKRL Ambassador.
Statement from Neville Metcalfe, Chairman of Hong Kong Rugby League:
“Dear all
Following James Hall’s move back to England I’m delighted to accept the position of Chairman of Hong Kong Rugby League. James will continue to be involved in his role as Co-founder & HKRL Ambassador. James and all of the original co-founders – of which Jack Muir and Dan Mascord remain as Executive Directors – have been integral in building Rugby League and Oz Tag here in Hong Kong and I hope to build upon the hard work and foundations they have laid.
We have many exciting opportunities and challenges ahead, not least assembling a competitive squad for the Emerging Nations World Cup in Sydney in November 2018. The start of our first domestic league has already proved to be a big attraction to players and fans alike and with our signature HKRL 9s event attracting international attention I’m optimistic about the future of our great game.”
