Hong Kong Rugby League and Crossroads, a Hong Kong non-profit organization, have teamed up to help raise awareness of their work within the HK sporting community. Crossroads Foundation aims to “bring together those in need and those who can help” in four ways…
GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: Where need meets resource. Goods are donated by business and private donors, then distributed to people in need, in Hong Kong and around the world.
GLOBAL HAND: Partnering for a better world. Global Hand is a match-making service which links for-profit and non-profit organisations who want to partner to help meet global need.
GLOBAL X-PERIENCE: Stepping into another’s shoes. Simulated x-periences in which participants step, briefly, ‘into the shoes’ of people facing global challenges: war, poverty, HIV vulnerability, blindness, environmental challenges, hunger, etc.
GLOBAL HANDICRAFTS: Fair trade for a fairer world. Aid helps people today. An income helps them tomorrow. Global Handicrafts Marketplace sells goods from people in need within Hong Kong, and around the world, on a fair trade basis.
“We’re delighted to be working with Hong Kong Rugby League and wish them all the best against Japan. Our mission is to help connect people in need and to bring hope into people’s lives, with HKRL’s global audience we hope to raise awareness of what we do” said Malcolm Begbie, Founder and Executive Director, Crossroads Foundation.
HKRL Chairman Neville Metcalfe is also excited by the partnership, saying: “It’s a great cause and a great fit to the values of our organization. We’re delighted to have Crossroads on board and look forward to helping them raise awareness and involvement through our new partnership.”
As a special gesture HKRL’s shorts for the up and coming game against Japan on 4 November will display the Crossroads logo.
