HKRL 9s Count Down – Pacific Toa

As we count down to the 4 May and the 2019 HKRL 9s at King’s Park we start to profile the competing teams, first up are tournament favourites Pacfic Toa. Reigning Super League champions Pacific Toa are building a sporting brand playing all forms of rugby, their pre-match war dances are entertaining fans across the world and intimidating opposing teams. Mostly made up of Polynesians Toa are encouraging people throughout Hong Kong to take up rugby league and are based in the Tin Shui Wai area.

Toa contested the 2018 HKRL 9s final, narrowly losing to Tonga Development in a thrilling game. It was here that Toa made their mark on the game. In Hogan Toomalatai they have Hong Kong’s hat trick hero and man of the match against Japan last year, in Hong Kong’s first evert international test match victory. And throughout the team they have proven match winners, Steven Ron Yates and Faisal Solomona – you’d be a brave man to bet against them going one step further this year at the 2019 HKRL 9s.
