Cobras looking to go one better

Runners up at the inaugural Hong Kong Rugby League Nines, the Coastal Cobras will be planning to go one step better when they take the field at King’s Park for the second Hong Kong Nines.

The Cobras represent Hong Kong’s western coast, including Castle Peak Bay and the Gold Coast region and will once again be managed by current Thunder coach, Jason Fairleigh.

In 2015, the Cobras went through the group stages undefeated, running up big victories against the Hunters and Warriors, and lead 4 – 0 in the Nines final before conceding 17 unanswered points in the second half to finish runners up in the inaugural event.

Boasting a side with significant Rugby League experience, the Cobras will be one of the tournament favourites when the 2016 event takes place.

The 2016 Hong Kong Rugby League Nines will take place on Monday, May 2nd (Labour Day) at Kings Park in Kowloon.

Teams and players interested in taking part in the event should contact the Hong Kong Rugby League via email at info@hongkongrugbyleague.com
